Greetings to all steemians and gamers out there! Today, I am reviewing one of the best trending Role-Playing-Game on android. As an old-school gamer and being used to retro games, I am kind'a picky when choosing a game to play on mobile platform. I usually use emulators to play console games rather than picking any other games on playstore . Old school games made by well-known Game publishers like Square Enix, Capcom, Konami and many others, not considering the graphics and visuals, I think, have better gameplay and quality storyline compared to most mobile "indi-games" today with higher resolution graphics.(Quality gaming is not just about the graphics)

But this time, it so happened I found the very first Action RPG that made me want to play an "online game" on mobile. It has the combination of a quality gameplay with great storyline and also on a high-definition graphics.

I am talking about "Final Fantasy Awakening" which was once developed by Perfect World and then officially Published by Square Enix on Android. This game is a sequel of "Final Fantasy Type - 0" published on Portable Sony Playstation in 2013. Type - 0 was an amazing "hack and slash" RPG that has a great storyline packed with stunning graphics and intense gameplay. And I am glad to say that I played and finished it til the end. That might be the main reason why I found "Awakening" so interesting.

STORYLINE

The story, just like FF Type - 0, takes place in a world called "The Orience" This world is devided into four nations. Wherein every nation posseses magical crystals that provide them special powers for offense and defending their people. The Orience was so peaceful for some times under a peace treaty until the day a huge military troops called Milites Empire broke the treaty and begun launching an invasion using their advance technology and mechanical power. They used a special machine called "crystal jammer" that deactives and prevents the crystals from bestowing its magical powers to its users. The Orience's future now depends on Class Zero( picture below) how they handle the war against evil forces of Milites.

At the start of the game, players are about to create a new character. First is to choose a hero from three different classes (Swordsman, Gunner and Mage)

Wind Swordsman - a melee fighter with dual swords and has balanced overall stats.

Fire Gun Slinger - has long-range skills and can cause heavy damage to distant enemies.

Ice Magitek Knight - a mage who has researched on controll skills, good at creating an optimal battle environment.

After choosing your hero class, the next step is a great depth for players in customizing their characters. From here, you can change the face, hairs-style, hair color and the personality of the hero depending on your desire.

I created GIFs from the actual screeshots I gathered during my first few minutes of the game.

○FACE

As you can see, these are the 5 various faces that you can choose to customize your hero. Quite few but, somehow, will make your hero look different.

○HAIR-STYLE

This part is what I like the most. Being able to change your hero's hair type is so cool it also makes a big difference on its looks. There are 8 types of hair-style I think.

○HAIR COLOR

You can also change the hair-color if you want.

○PERSONALITY

There are three kinds of personality - Blood, Gentle and Blood. I think it will be the behavior of the hero during battles.

GAMEPLAY

After creating a new Hero, there shall be a cutscene. Evil Milites started a surprise attack on Dominion of Rubrum (where Magic Academy of Akademia Nation is located) that brought a massive destruction on the Academy and there, the "player"(an unknown student) thrusted into battle as a support to Academy Soldiers in battling against evil Troops of Milites!

●Real-Time Battle System

CONTROLS are very easy. Since it is an Action RPG, you can freely move your character around during battles using the virtual analog stick on the left hand corner of the screen. To perform an attack or to unleash a special skill, tap any of the action buttons or icons on the right hand corner.

LIMIT BREAKS ( a powerful skill that can be unleashed when a Hero is in critical state during battles) are also included in the battle system, just like other FF Game Series do have.

GUARDIAN FORCES ( Powerful Summons) are still present on the game and aquired along the way. They play an important role during tough battles when you need extra strength and devastating magic attacks to win fights against powerful Bosses.

PLAY AS A TEAM - The game also lets you recruit team mates. You can have up to 5 heroes in your party. But in the beginning you only have 1 hero slot and eventually the other slots will be unlocked as you push your way through the game.

AUTO BATTLE MODE - One thing this game has adopted from modern battle system on android RPG, is the "Auto Mode". You need to play but your hands are too busy?? No worries dude! Just tap on the "Auto" icon and watch how your troops slash and smash the bad guys on their own.

●Level ups and Upgrades

As you go through missions, your hero and the whole party gain experiences and LEVEL UP automatically. But other stats like Attack(ATK), Defense(DEF) and Health Points(HP) need to be upgraded manually by players at times. You can also "star-up" and "rank-up" each of your heroes for further improvements of their strength. Skills are upgradable as well.

●Interaction with other players

Being able to communicate to other players through group chatrooms and private chat, is something "New" to me and found it pretty cool since I'm used to offline RPGs which are "play alone" kind of gaming. It is a great way of making new friends and the fact that you can recruit them as company on some other dungeon quest or missions, will absolutely make your adventure more addicting and exhilirating!

Final Fantasy Awakening is a perfect game for casual or hardcore gamers especially, RPG lovers who likes console-quality mobile gaming experience anytime, anywhere right on the palm.
