I never really got into gaming too much, I've always liked playing computer games since when I was young and Frogger was the level of gaming quality about. That and asteroids. But I never got obsessed about it, in the way hardcore gamers seem to. One game I did get into was the 2015 Star Wars Battlefront, to me in an amazing way it thrust you into the Star Wars Universe where you can literally walk around the movies - make your own little version and have a bit of a battle at the same time.
I was hooked from the start, I didn't get particularly good at it but for me it wasn't about being the top of the leaderboard - I just enjoyed running around the Star Wars maps and having a bit of fun at the same time.
When this years Star Wars Battlefront II was announced I went straight for pre-order - with even more varied maps throughout the different Star Wars Movies timescales it was an obvious pre-order for me. This series of posts I will do are going to cover my gameplay in various maps on the new game - given they changed the playing considerably and I'm also still terrible at the game - you are not going to see some game changing top of the leaderboard gaming. It's just about looking around the new maps, maybe helping people thinking of buying the game seeing what it is all about - and just enjoying the amazing Star Wars Universe re-imagined game style.
For this new Map we are in the Death Star, and I'm an Imperial Storm Trooper tasked with stopping an invading group of rebels from sabotaging the defences. The death star featured in the first game, but they have made the graphics much more richer for this version with some amazing film like quality terrain to walk around.
In addition they added new heroes - and new ways to gain access to them giving players even more chance to play as their favourite character. Being an Imperial in this round of course I have to come across Yoda with his lightening fast lightsaber attack.
Like the first version of this game, I seem to always give the biggest benefit to the opposing teams kill count. But it's all good fun, and as I get used to the new play style, weapon choices and get a few upgrades hopefully it won't alway be run...die...run..die for me.
