About Zteem.io

Zteem.io is a browser game specifically created for the Steem blockchain. The game should work in any somewhat modern browser and on any platform that uses mouse or touch input. The first release uses the Steem blockchain to store the high score list and allows for a player to post the result of a game round to the user blog.

To play the game you click, hold and move your cursor to move the blue square around. As you pickup bright blue squares they form a tail that starts to chase the player. The goal is to pickup as many bright blue squares as possible without touching the chasing tail. Squares of other colors are power ups: Red allows you to eat the tail, green freezes the tail, yellow scatters the tail and purple makes you invincible. The key to a good high score is how you use the red power up!

Current state

In the first release the functionality of the game is close to finished, but everything uses temporary test materials. It is possible to login and play the game and when game over, you can choose to post to your blog. If you score high enough for the high score list, you can post to your blog and this will update the high score list for everyone.

What's next?

First up will be fixing some bugs. Mainly how the player can be instantly killed if picking up a new star when a power up runs out. Proper instructions will be added to the game, sprites will get some improved looks and basic audio will be added. After this the actual game will be updated to be more than a big random splat of objects, this structure has been used to allow for quick testing.
