Day 828: 5 Minute Freewrite: Sunday - Prompt: facelift

For @mariannewest in @freewrite

Face drop happens when a guy admits his feelings to a girl while she shunts him off. This is a serious blow to a guy's confidence and self-image and an assault on his psyche. But men are built in such a way that their nervous system and their psyche are more sturdy and they are more accustomed to a face drop as their investment in an encounter is not very consulting. So in a relatively short time, they can have a facelift and go to knock in some other door.

For a girl, this is a much more serious challenge. Girls are not accustomed (historically) to admit their feelings to a guy, and if shunt off it might lead not to face drop by to the entire face loss.

Now come the #METOO and interpersonal relationship come to a screeching halt. Because if a girl doesn't like a guy's advances she might consider them as sexual harassment and a guy might lose his job or freedom.

So what is the solution?

I heard this from one of the dating coaches. It turns out that a girl is much more perceptive than a guy in taking cues. So what guy must do it to give a girl a cue that she won't be rejected if she would admit her feelings first. That is done by telling a story of some other happy couple when a girl admitted her feelings first and was gratefully accepted without any loss of face. So essentially that roundabout way of preserving girl's face. If she doesn't want she want to have any romantic involvement she won't follow through and at the same time, it's no risk for a guy because he cannot be charged in sexual harassment simply because he said a story about someone else. Well, at least, it didn't go that far yet. And if the girl wants to engage in romantic relationship then she can boldly go forward as she knows she will not have to lift it up from the floor. )
