Love takes many shapes, with the time period usually being the first variable that determines the options. Lorna knew this, but she still preferred details of the past.
The effort of properly decorating a letter, the aesthetic pleasure of watching good calligraphy depicting the words that she and any other woman would like to feel, and how fun it was to get a cute tiny knife and carefully rip the envelope’s lid!.
She wasn’t so old, barely starting her 30’s, but some things about the modern age made her feel far beyond her real years. From kid to adult, she liked to write, not just tales or that stale novel’s draft that she never sent to a publisher, but her every thought, in personal diaries, and heartfelt letter to her loved ones. For this last thing, she almost never received the response letter she wanted.
And so, here she was, staring at the screen of her laptop, thinking about how impersonal e-mail and similar things felt at times, but still waiting for the little icon in her inbox to tell her that she got a new message, hopefully from the one she hoped became her boyfriend.
A little late, but the balckouts both forbid me to be on time, and alter my sleep pattern/schedule...
