I really missed you guys. And I really missed blogging and sharing my stories with you. Friday was the last time that I posted something and shared some baking tips. Are you curious what happened after that? Yes, I will tell you. And that is the reason why I am writing this blog for now.
I was busy editing my post about the Revel Bar when suddenly the internet connection got interrupted. I am not yet done with the editing but then I have to finish the article to submit. I registered for a mobile data promo from my service provider Globe and availed for the 100MB data. But it wasn't sufficient enough to satisfy my internet surfing for that day.
I also availed the 2GB mobile data which the provider says it will expire in a week. But then only few hours passed and I already consumed the 2GB data. I was so shocked how fast it disappeared! I did not download any large file contents nor stream any videos and it vanished in an instant. So, I concluded not to avail for any mobile data promo from them and only rely on wi-fi connections for the internet surfing.

I found out what caused the 2GB to disappear that fast. My apps automatically installed the updates. It was like 24 apps that were updated. And oh my! I forgot to turn off automatic update installation. How reckless I was to forgot about it.
And so to not repeat the same mistake again and to save some resources, I decided to take advantage of free wi-fi zones. Here are some establishments where I enjoyed free wi-fi connection. I want to share it to you guys so you can use it in case of emergency.

Malls offer 1 Hour Free Wi-Fi. Part of their marketing strategy is to make people stay inside eventhough people doesn't shop around or just stayed and sit. They (mall owners) knew for a certain fact that people staying inside might want some snack while using the Free Wi-Fi. So still, they benefitted from it. Another hypothesis, people enjoying the service might recommend it to other friends. In an instant, the mall got its 'word of mouth' promotion from satisfied customers. And that explains it how people come and go inside malls and different malls expanding and opening fast and growing stronger. How did I knew such concept? I have a friend working in the security department of that mall. (No, I will not divulge his name) And true enough, I also experienced the same. Being hungry while surfing for an hour. And recommending the service from friends (like what I am doing now on this blog).

Same concept as above. Except that their 1hour service is slow and ends up loading the Sign-in page over and over again. But if you have enough patience or you are near the area, probably it works just right for you. If I am going to rate it, it is not recommendable for people with short temper. Keep your cool, guys.

Upon ordering, they will give you a card where they wrote their Wi-Fi Password. They change it everyday so that opportunists who only got to dine once can't abuse the service. No minimum amount of order, just a single Frappe costing 75 ph pesos (1.44 US $) gives you access to their unlimited Wi-Fi. Yes, unlimited until you are staying there. I chose the Frappe because aside from the extra rice, it is their next cheapest food on the menu.
No, I am not giving a review of the restaurant, just my Wi-Fi experience while staying. But I cannot deny the fact that their food is great; service is fast and the crew were polite; ambience is relaxing; and music is soothing. And their internet speed is incredibly fast too.

Cliq App Wi-Fi
By downloading the Cliq App (found on Google Play Store), you can have the privilege to enjoy their Wi-Fi offer. But data rates cost Cliq points, you should buy something first from the store. A single point is equivalent to 80MB data. The more you purchase, the higher points rewarded to you. And with higher points, you can exchange it to data you can use for surfing the net.
I already accumulated 96points, having higher consumption of data. I did not spent all 96points for data only, I used the remaining points to purchase food. Because it is also tradable to merchandise included on the promo. Eating while surfing, a purely addictive habit which is difficult to break.
I am foolish enough to look for FREE Wi-Fi zones, but that does not contribute a solution to the problem I am currently facing. The real problem is loss of internet connection in our home. We need to diagnose it first and fast (bill is still existent whether connectivity is lost). As for my friend's advice, I need to call the service provider and report the problem to be able to troubleshoot it.
Patience is a must, and yet I have to deal with it. I called their hotline and followed the instructions given by the virtual assistant. Having long waiting period of connecting to their customer service, it will really give you a bad temper. I kept myself calm and peaceful by maintaining a low-tone voice and polite conversation with the technician. My call ended having the guarantee that they will send over a service maintenance personnel to check for possible damages.

A day has passed and no personnel visited on us. I spent the entire day waiting for him to come but hope seems so little. I repeated the call the other day and again they assured that someone will come over to check. Persistent as I can be, I waited again. No sign of the personnel I was waiting for. I quit calling them today because I have something important to attend to. Destiny must be playing with me, the one I was waiting for suddenly arrived when I did not expect him to be.
That ends my misery. The problem is now solved. Our modem needed to be replaced because it is no longer functioning. With a new model, they did the installation. The expenses will soon reflect on our next monthly bill. I feel a sigh of relief. Enduring the lost of connection for 5 days made me unaccustomed, because I have friends who always contact me thru social media accounts. I now realized how important internet is. And I also proved that true maturity is being able to control your temper over things that test your patience.
