Congratulations to Kim Dotcom - don't have your freedom taken away

We are loosing all liberties and nobody seems to care!!

If you don't know it yet, 6 years ago today, Kim Dotcom, the founder of Megaupload, got arrested in New Zealand with an incredible show of force.

Megaupload was the biggest file-sharing facility in the world, and a target for the copyright-industry.

The anti-terrorist Special Tactics Group was deployed and invaded his Coatesville mansion in a helicopter raid.

For "criminal copyright violation", which was not a crime in New Zealand, Kim and three others were arrested, by request of the FBI and the US government.

At this minute, 6 years ago, two helicopters packed with anti-terror troops armed with Bushmaster rifles landed in front of my house to enforce an arrest warrant based on a non-criminal claim of secondary online copyright infringement...

Just image the craziness of it all. Because of some copyright violations, which were not even proved yet and were not illegal where he lived, they deployed ANTI-TERRORIST troops.

While fighting extradiction and trying to retrieve his assets, Kim turned this day into a joyful one

...and I’m getting married today

At the same time his lawyers are serving a multi-billion dollar claim against the NZ government.

We wish the happy couple all the best, and salute the man that still stands up to government abuse and dictatorship.*

For those that don't care about this injustice; here's an image of the best man at the wedding:

*) If you don't think the US government is abusing its powers, check out the fact that the unbridled spying by the NSA has been approved for another 6 years. There is a definite need for more private and stealth solutions.
