Hi guys and fellow foodies, today I have whipped up a batch of Lumpiang Sariwa to serve our guests who paid us a visit. Lumpia is a delicious Filipino dish featuring fresh veggies, savory pork, and shrimp neatly wrapped in soft rice paper, accompanied by a delectable peanut sauce.Lumpiang Sariwa, also known as Fresh Spring Rolls or Filipino Fresh Spring Rolls, is a popular dish in Filipino cuisine. "Lumpiang" refers to spring rolls, and "sariwa" means fresh. This dish is a type of spring roll that is not deep-fried, unlike its counterpart, the Lumpiang Shanghai, which is a fried spring roll. Both of these dishes hold a special place as beloved Filipino food favorites.

Lumpiang Sariwa consists of a variety of fresh and cooked ingredients wrapped in a soft, translucent rice paper wrapper. The filling typically includes a mixture of vegetables such as carrots, lettuce, bean sprouts, and sometimes jicama, cabbage, or green beans. It often includes sautéed shrimp, ground pork, or tofu as a protein source. The filling is usually seasoned with soy sauce, garlic, and other flavorings.

One of the distinctive features of Lumpiang Sariwa is the use of a special sauce called "lumpia sauce" or "sweet garlic peanut sauce." This sauce is made from ground peanuts, garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, and sometimes hoisin sauce or peanut butter. It adds a sweet, savory, and slightly nutty flavor to the spring rolls.
