Good day everyone! Today I'm gonna share with you one of Batangas' pride and my all-time favorite.. LOMI!
Lomi is a type of noodle soup dish using thick egg noodles. Although this dish has a Chinese origin, several different variations became available around the Philippines through time. One of the most popular variation of this dish is our very own Batangas Lomi.

You'd know Batangas Lomi from the others because it has no vegetables. The soup is very thick and somewhat slimy - but in a good way. All the towns and cities of Batangas have numbers of lomi stores (commonly called lomi houses) which offers their own special flavor and choice of toppings. These toppings could be a mix of different meat products such as kikiam, meatballs, squidballs, fishaballs and liverstrips to name a few. Other usual toppings are hard boiled eggs and chicharon that adds more flavor to the dish.
Like other noodles, Batangas Lomi is served hot and usually eaten with fried garlic, onion, soy cause and calamansi (with chili if you're brave).
Just last weekend, my friend who was vacationing from her work in Middle East requested for lomi before she leaves. We decided to bring her to my favorite, even if it's around 30km from our house! It's located at Brgy. Baybayin, Rosario Batangas. It is a bit far, but it's always worth the trip! (Besides, longer trips means longer time together).
Of all the lomi houses in Batangas, my personal favorite is Kuya Peter's.
Kuya Peter’s Special Lomi with Double Toppings
Kuya Peter’s lomi may not be as colorful as the others but its topped with my favorites altogether.
It has liver strips, deep friend pork isaw and chicharong bulaklak (chitterlings) and pupor (crispy fried pork). The flavor of the lomi and the toppings complement each other perfectly, giving you a unique and strong taste that would lust after. (Gosh, I feel like indulging again into one now!)
Kuya Peter’s Menu
If you’re not into thick, slimey noodles, don’t worry, majority of lomi houses offer other noodle dishes such as Pansit Mike, Bihon and Guisado.

Thanks for reading! I hope you can try a delicious bowl of lomi soon!
