Nevada offers a first class hamburger. This Nevada style can be prepared on the stove, on the grill, or on a wood fire.
Recipe on how to get it done...
Start with a pound of good-quality, lean ground beef. Ground top round steak is the best. You can prefer four sourdough buns or kaiser rolls.
In a bowl, mix any of the following ingredients:
1 tsp. each mustard powder, chili powder and/or cayenne pepper.
2 tsp. chopped fresh parsley.
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce or barbecue sauce.
With clean hand, carefully knead the seasoning mixture into the ground beef.
Handle it just enough to mix the ingredients loosely-too much handling can make the meat tough. Divide the seasoned beef into four lumps and pat each one into a flattened burger. Cook them till they are hot all the way through and done to your liking. Server your burgers toasted rolls.
Nevada farmers grow plenty of potatoes and onions, so have a side order of French fries, or top your burgers with a tangy onion slice.
There it is your Delicious Nevada-made ham burger.
