Homemade Pizza!

When it comes to food i'm more of a live to eat kind of person, i think about what i'm going to eat in advance and get excited about it, and the food i love the most is Pizza. For me and my partner Valentines day isn't really a big deal, we buy each other cards and he takes me for food, but this year i decided that i was going to make some homemade pizzas instead.

They're simple and not too time consuming to make, its best if you make the dough in the morning if you're going to eat them in the evening so it has plenty of time to rise.

Dough
4 Cups of Strong White Flour
1/2 tsp dried yeast
1tsp salt
2 tsp olive oil
500ml warm water

This will make enough for two large Pizzas with maybe a little bit left over.

  • Mix the flour, yeast and salt together and a bit at a time, mix in the water and oil until you have a dough that's kind of wet and lumpy, make sure to get all the excess flour that hides at the bottom of the bowl!

  • cover with kitchen roll or cling film and leave to rise for about 6 hours

When you come back to it the dough should have doubled in size and it will still be quite wet and a sticky, juts add flour in so that it becomes more of a soft dry dough that your can roll out.

From here the dough is your canvas you can add whatever you like, i use passata for the base and just pre bought grated cheese, My partner had his favourite Ham and Pineapple and i used dairy free grated mozzarella, vegetarian hoisin shredded "duck" and just a whole bunch of vegetables.

I must say this was the best pizza i ever made and when you make a good pizza, you've just got to show it off!
