First try of DIY Samgupsal with officemates

Samgyupsal, according to trifood.com is a popular Korean meat dish that are enjoyed at home or at Korean restaurants that specializes in meat dishes. It is very popular in Philippines nowadays spreading around different areas mostly in Manila.

We are living in a so called "millennial" generation and Korean Drama's, KPop Groups and even some of Korean Cultures are very common and being adapted now in the Philippines. I've dined with my friends before in one of Korean Restaurant named "Minio's Grill" in Malate Manila who serves Unlimited Pork for 399php and 499php for Beefs per person. It was quite expensive but it will surely make you walkout full.

Instead going to Korean Restaurants for their Samgyupsal, we tried doing it on our own. My friend @mabethcruz have an electric grilling and we gathered in one of our friend's house to grill some pork that we purchased in our company. Below was the video of our first try.

A week after that, I borrowed my friend's electric grill because I want to try it also with my family on weekends. I sent message to my family and asked them to get ready for we will try the famous Samgyupsal in our home and they were all excited! Our ingredients were just the same as what we used before.

It was a rainy Sunday but nothing can stop us from our plans so we go to the market and bought things that we need. The first on our list was the Lettuce where we encountered hard time and consumed a lot of time finding one. Since there are Korean restaurants arising in our neighboring towns who are newly built, Lettuce has a higher demands. And also that market near us was one of the popular market that has been classified as the "bagsakan" where vegetables are being sold bulked and lower price than any market. Luckily there's still a store who has it but some were damaged so the vendor picked some that were still okay to eat.

I cut the crab sticks into half and also the pork. I separated the bacon and rolled in to make it presentable. It was time consuming but I love what I am doing though no one helped me rolling it. I rolled another pork but it has a crab stick filled inside. While the remaining, I just cut into two.

@yanning's Glazed Potato

While I am busy with my pork, my Sister was busy cooking her requested Togue and those small potatoes. I don't know how she cooked it, I told her to post it here and share her recipe. I am hoping one day she will, hey @yanning when will we see that recipe of yours? That tastes good!

My youngest sister washed the Lettuce and my partner @bowiemagbag cut the remaining vegetables such as Cucumber, Onions and the Chilies.

Everyone had fun and really enjoyed eating. Imagine how much we save? With a total of almost 1,000php only, we manage to try the korean craze at home compared in eating on a Korean Restaurant and pay 399php each. By the way, we were 10 people who eats together that time and we were all full but still have porks left over. I enjoyed eating the grilled bacon with rice while the others love eating it with the lettuce and my sons enjoyed grilling the small corn and hot dog like what I've expected.

Will you try this craze too?
