They had to endure a huge queue of those wishing to participate. A good thing that they had a couple of sandwiches, which Harmony had prudently taken for emergencies like this from the castle.
There were many interesting participants: amongst them even girls with green hair who danced the swamp tango. Elly silently (as fish cannot really talk) tried to make friends with them by copying their movements. The green haired girls only laughed, they did not mind somebody stealing their moves, though they did not understand why this mysterious lady in a Burka danced with them.
There was also a strongman who warmed up in the lobby by juggling multicolour weights. Compared to him Chris was looking even smaller and slimmer than usually, but it did not prevent him from showing his muscles to Harmony. She just laughed, Chris laughed too.
- Why compare yourself with someone else, she said.
He nodded, but thought that he might do some more physical exercise when he return home, although his favourite occupation of course will still be fishing.
The participants were mostly young, all wearing bright clothes. The variety of outfits were pleasing the eyes of children from the Green Earth after the grey colours of the streets.
Finally, their turn came to perform. They asked to turn off the light before starting the show. The audience became emerged in darkness and silence griped the room.
Chris started whistling a beautiful melody slowly increasing the volume. When he reached the climax, he stopped for a moment, the light came on, and in the middle of the scene everyone saw Elly who stood in a gleaming long silk glowing burka. Harmony started affectionately singing the melody of the wind, and Ellie caught the rythm and turned it into a dance. Little by little the song of the wind turned into the tune of stars. Never had the audience ever heard such a crystal voice, never seen such a passionate dance. Elly seemed to fill the whole scene, and her dress was like the universe with its vortex of spinning stars.
Harmony's song was beautiful and touched the hearts of all those who were in the hall and those who watched the performance live on television.
When, finally, the performance finished the audience exploded with applause. Chris heard exclamations "Divine," "Sensational” from the extatic audience.
