3 steps to free yourself from your fears

Have you ever run away from any prospect of change that is promised to fail? Fear the occasions and events where you might be exposed to others and their criticism? Or being paralyzed in a situation that you were not familiar with?
If you recognize yourself in one (or more) of these situations, then you've probably already felt this powerful emotion called fear which is like your worst enemy: it doesn't want you good.

On the contrary, it will do everything to keep you locked in your comfort zone and to prevent you from evolving, which means that as long as it's here, you can't really become and realize yourself. But you have to reassure yourself that there are solutions to get rid of it and give it much less important in your life.

In today's article, I propose you to discover 3 proven steps that will free you from your ‘enemy’. Here we go. Let's start.

Step 1: Understand your fears

Fear is above all an emotion that comes to warn you that you are facing what your brain will interpret as a danger, that is something that may go wrong and you absolutely want to avoid, so its role is to keep you in your comfort zone to protect you from failure and suffering that accompanies with it.
What you need to know: Fear is only a projection of your mind: it often does not correspond to reality.
The next time you feel in danger, I invite you to analyze what is happening in you: what exactly scares you? What do you think might happen?
Identifying exactly what you are anxious about can help you find strategies to get around it.

Step 2: Relieve your fears

As we have seen above, fear can be very pervasive, to the point of taking control of your whole body through your emotions and also your mind (you know what they say: a negative thought attracts others).
So it'll do it’s best to remind you as often as possible that it's likely to pop up at any time. ‘Fear of fear’ will eventually set in and you will no longer be able to think of anything else.
What you need to know: The body and mind are closely linked: if you feel physical (and emotionally) ill, then you will feel it morally.
The good news is that it also works the other way around!
So, I suggest you think about the method that suits you best to relieve stress and concentrate on the essentials: yoga, meditation, sophrolog etc.
By focusing your attention on your body, you will help your mind to focus on the present moment and detach itself from your fears.

Step 3: Consume your fears

What makes fear so vicious is that it manages very well to make you believe that it is in control of the situation and to prevent you from confronting another reality than your fearful version (‘I think it's going to go wrong so that's what's going to happen’).
By drowning in a wave of emotions that you don't understand, it leaves you no other choice but to take your legs to your neck, thus missing out on many opportunities to thrive and live your life to the fullest.
What you need to know: Behind every fear, there is a need that is expressed and that requires respect: to be supported, to feel free, to realize oneself...By learning to listen to them, you will end up giving them less importance and be able to take a more positive outlook at what you are experiencing.
