Let's talk EOS Jan 9 2018, summary, bit's of transcript and quotes

00:00 Not a whole lot that is going on officially this week but…

Not a whole lot that is going on as far as what we're aware of and what we haven't already announced.

00:49 That's why we focus on community and contests

We give out crypto tokens like I used to give out dkp and a guild and the way that this stuff works is I used to build guilds and I loved doing it all my life. It's one of the things that I've always loved is watching. People come together, manifest amazing things together and then build something that is self-sustaining.

Guild masters devised ways of giving points that would give you a little portion of what was in the guild bank and everybody would generally get a little bit from the guild bank for the work that they did and they would need this special guild token. Well, we've done something that is a world-first here which is creating these tokens that are between two chains!

03:17 270 replies to devs on EOStalk.io

You guys can see as we look EOStalk.io We have developers who got 270 replies on there. There are 2,000 messages in the community projects.

03:46 Crypto markets are down a little nit and so is EOS at $9.13

04:14 tokens for tweets, EOS go forums

We are doing an actual community art challenge for something called the EOS go forums, and I want to make it clear here that they are another forum that is on the internet here. That is focusing on specifically governance for EOS, and I urge everybody to remember that we can help. Even though we are another community and we have another website, we're still part of a broader community, so helping EOS go, helps us and vice-versa

06:05 SteemPowerPics wrap up on tokens for tweets contest

Announcing the winners today. Contest:

  • Ethereum Kittens Meme Challenge
  • EOS Go challenge

Each week we're going to try to push out one or two challenges a week. We're going to start tagging the value in those challenges too. So you really understand the USD value that is behind those 30 BeyondBits.

Monday, we do our first contest and Tuesday's followed up with the tokens for tweet, very contest and then Thursday's the tokens for tweet. That falls behind that and the whole point is maybe you're not in that create creative side of what we do for challenges. But you can then still help us share these contests, get them out, spread them out across the internet through Twitter.

09:02 Tipping, rewarding tweeting and posting on Facebook, gab.ai

We actually have tipping that we've tested on these forums in bitshares, and we are now going to be opening up, EOS tipping on them here and then probably a week or two. I would say two weeks. Maximum and beyond bits, of course, will be also added to them, because why not? ;)

We're going to be able to not only post reward things for like tweeting, but we're going also going to be able to reward things like posting to Facebook and things like that and in a little bit, probably the medium term.

Gab.AI is another platform that I want to do and if you are somebody who's from Gab.ai and you want to help them. Let them know what we're doing. Please let me know.

12:39 Meme challenge

We're paying out good money, but we're getting this in return and that's all worth it.

16:40 Houston EOS Meetup this Thursday

@bycompoundfilms:The meeting is this Thursday in Houston, at 2700 Post Oak Boulevard on the 20th floor, and we already have about - I think 17 people RSVP'd so far, and we have a 15 minute video presentation that we've been working extremely hard on, especially trying to illustrate a lot Of the important bullet points about this technology and then we'll go ahead and talk for about 15 minutes with the speaker and then a Q & A for another 30 minutes. And then we're going to get to hang out and and just talk amongst each other and and compare notes.

20:56 Why use EvenBrite?

@bycompoundfilms: I've been using Eventbrite a long time, so, if you're out there trying to do an event, I highly recommend it. The fees aren't as high as everybody else, and they also have tools to help you on the Google search engine. They send out emails and they also have a digest and they're pretty good on the app as far as people looking for things to do so, they actually compiled a lot of relevant events based on your interest. They cater to those people that might want to attend your event. So the reason I like them is because they give you a little push and your event also ends up in things to do this weekend or things to do this week in Houston type of digest that they have. So you know, I've had a lot of success using that and - and it's definitely helped me with this meetup so eventbrite.com, it's the best thing for me to create digital tickets, in my opinion.

Whatever we'd get in terms of support is just going to end up helping all of you, because we have a track record for it.
