Definition of words used in this 'New Technology' space, I'm finding, is becoming increasingly important. Early promoters and adopters tended to use generalized terms and filler words to close the gap while explaining these new technologies,(Blockchain, Web3, Generative A.I.) and those generalized words/terms became synonymous with the subject.
Now that the knowledge of the technology is more well known there are now better defined words and terms to explain the space. I am realizing how important it is to convey information using the correctly defined word to describe what I am talking about. Using definitive words instead of the often used 'buzzwords' avoids the 'eye-roll' reaction I used to get when talking about new technology such as Blockchain, Web3, and Generative A.I.
The majority of possible viewers are tired of the same words/terms used to talk about the prospect of these technologies. The generalized words and terms used during those hazy early days have NO VALUE anymore.
I am finding myself becoming something of a Lexicographer , Which might be the wrong title but it sounds cool, because the more truth in the definition and meaning of a word, the more value it holds to the possible viewer/participant. The technology is no longer in those hazy early days where everybody was trying to figure it out, shouldn't the evolution of the language used to explain it grow as well?
Dictionaries and Thesauruses are more important than ever in helping describe these spaces. General and filler words won't do anymore as they have been overused and have no meaning, it's time to get 'definitive' in the explanations!
