Do you think it a good or bad idea to bring children into this world in these troubled times?
I am sure that this question was created with the idea of all the dooms-day talk that is flying around these days.
And that the answers would be along the lines of,
- yes, there has always been dooms-day talk
- no, the dooms-day talk is true this time.
However, we live in a very weird time, and so, the answer is D) None of the above.
There has always been dooms-day talks, however in no time in history has their been so much dooms-day evidence.
In the past, the times when not to start giving birth to children is when they might immediately starve. An actual drought or an actual famine, is not a good time to have children. (as opposed to a dooms-day that may or may not come)
Other times in the past that were bad for child raising is when you might have to be on the run. Being a Jew in the late 1930s Germany. Not a good time to be having children.
So, is their imminent danger? Is the dooms-day stories true this time?
There are several things that are definitely happening.
- We are at the beginning of an ice-age.
- We are at the beginning of extreme robotization.
- We are at the beginning of farmlands in The US collapsing.
These are not dooms-day issues that might come, they are here.
They are happening. You can go and see it.
Thus, if you want to start raising children you will have to do what @papa-pepper is doing
- live outside the city
- grow your own food
- be prepared to teach your children (sending children to school is no longer an option)
- have savings in cryptos and PMs.
If you feel that you can just rely on your job and grocery stores, you are making an egregious error. Neither will be around when your child gets to adulthood.
Not to say that they will just disappear, but will transform into something. Basically, robot programming engineers will be able to order from Krogers' armoured food delivery service.
I have only spoken of what i see happening, and not what i believe will happen.
- Financial collapse
- Complete destruction of the financial industry
- Medical industry collapse
- Dollar collapse
- Oil shortages
- Rounding up and imprisonment of "free-speakers"
- American Civil War II
- ...
We are living in very exciting times. And the future looks bright. All of these institutions are so corrupt that the only way forward is their complete destruction. So collapse is merely the start of something better.
However, these are not times to be stuck in a city, with a job which requires two hours of driving, while starting a family. That is just asking for pain and hardship.
If you want to have grow a family, move out of the (about to be) frozen north into a farming community and grow fruit trees, vegetables and children.
