[EP169] - Overuse injuries, the whys and whats...

Hi everyone!
Hope you're all well!
Welcome to my video made exclusively for D.Tube.

Almost every athlete I know has an overuse injury of some kind. They are an absolute pain to deal with, and it's something that everyone could do better with.

The main cause, I believe, is by going too hard too fast. Everyone focuses on how muscles react to a new workout or training regime, but people don't put as much effort into our their tendons and fascia respond. Basically, the trick is, unfortunately, to go slower than you'd like.

It's truly the tortiose versus the hare... go hard, go fast, get injured, recover, rinse, repeat... or slowly adapt to a new training regime and slowly build up your muscies, tendons and fasica. Given I've been out for nearly 10 months with climbers elbow, I can tell you which method is far more successful.

Lots of people do blame overuse injuries on age... but I really do think that part of the problem is the damage we do and the patterns we establish when we're younger.

Turn down the intensity of your workouts, but turn up the consistency!

What do you think? Do you have any overuse injuries you're struggling with?

Thanks for watching!
