Figuratively Anyways!
Hope everyone had a good week and is ready for their Monday. The days tend to blur together when I'm on break so I lose track pretty easily. Gotta stay up on my calendar.
Anyways, for this B-Sides I am putting up a slightly older beat that was based off a sample I collected off a really old Camelot play vinyl record. It's got some woman saying "we can fly" or it could be "we can find," I'm not positive. "We Can Fly" sounded like a cooler name to me. Yanno. It's all about personal achievement n' shit. Soar above the clouds, ya'll.
As with all my beats, I fully designed the drums/percussion, and this one has a nice boom bap feel to it. The synth bass for this one was actually handled by one of Ableton's native instruments. I alternate between some pulsating bass and then some sustained notes, and I used the Transpose function in Ableton to alter the pitch of the sample from time to time. Another fun trick I use is playing around with automating delay effects. You can get some cool dynamics by utilizing automation. I highly recommend experimenting with it!
Hope you dig this beat, and feel free to drop a comment and check my other material out! I will pump another blog out here before too long as well. I am always happy to send music to people who want it for listening pleasure or to perhaps collaborate on! If we collaborate on a track and I post it to my account, I will split half the SBD with you. Something to consider for my musical people! Peace and love Steemfam.
Did you know?!?!?!?!
I co host a radio show on @msp-waves called Voices from the Mountains #vfmradio. Every Saturday, 3-5am UTC you can hear my beautiful voice along with my host mates @intuitivejakob and @lpfaust. We get pretty silly, and you're sure to be entertained between the satire/comedy, music and energy readings. We are working on building a team up and we have some other big plans in store for the future! So excited to actualize our vision.
