Hi, this is a recent drawing I sketched late one night when midnight was looming. It is of a glass of wine and it was inspired by my way of life. It shows a small part of my life. That's me - I work, I collect my pay, and I drink my wine. So the drawing shows the end of that work- life cycle. If you have an objection to this life- work balance then I don't really want to know about you. It works for me ! :-)
At the sides of the glass of wine are five leaves of ivy. I have heard that in ancient times, if someone wore a wreath of ivy it would protect them from becoming drunk. I wasn't wearing mine :-)
The purple curved shapes behind the glass and the leaves are intended as a personal recognition to my late and once- favourite auntie. She once lived in a house which had curved glass panels in a wall by her front door. The purple glass shapes in my drawing show what her glass panels looked like.
There is also a simple tablecloth and an extra drop of redness at the base of the glass.
I hope you can relate. Thanks, take care.
