Freestyle Friday Episode 2 #Carter5

Whats up friends and @steemit family its that time of the week again . Carrying on a tradition that I believe was started by BET, last week I started a live audio pod-cast / radio show entitled 'freestyle Fridays'. As a full time activist and alternative media journalist a lot of the work that I can be focused on the more negative aspects of our society, criminality and corruption, the many problems we face and even though I attempt to offer some solutions to our current situation the reality of our situation can be overwhelming and down right depressing at times.

I want to create content that was more fun and uplifting, something people could participate in listen in and get happy and excited to be a part of it. Most people who follow me now don't know that I was once a pretty popular rapper in my hood. I guess maybe I was a 'county wide rapper' lol. Fairly well known in Southern Maryland, I was by most accounts the best 'battle rapper' in my high-school hands down like 6:30. As we often do as we get older rapping became less and less of a dream of mine and slowly life started getting in the way of my writing and practicing in the pursuit of stardom. From 17-21 I wrote a song a day on average, well at least 16 bars or so and was free-styling regularly with friends. This was peak 8th mile Eminem era as well so rapping was the it thing at the time, and I truly enjoyed the accolades I received from my peers at the time.

I thin the reality of every thing we do as adults, the things we buy, the shows we watch, the music we listen to, foods we eat, its all about taking us back to that special time when we were care free and innocent. That blissful ignorance that we are all nostalgic for if only for a moment that is what I hope this radio show / pod cast can provide for myself and others.

The concept is simple; the first 30 mins is dedicated to promoting fresh independent music and discussing recent news in hip hop culture. Last week I talked about the MGK and Eminem rap beef and gave my opinions on the exchange. Tonight in this weeks episode I will be talking about the rumors of lil-Wayne potentially doing a blind drop of the carter 5 at midnight tonight.

The second half is what the name suggest; Freestyle. Last week was episode 1, the first broadcast and if you are familiar with podcast usually the first few episodes are not going to be that good when I went back and listen to the broadcast the levels were terrible, you could hardly hear me behind the background instrumental, and for the first 10 mins I was not even broadcasting the system audio just the microphone, so you could hear me talking but had no clue what I was referencing. Tonight's episode will be better.

Also the show is about viewer participation. I cannot (don't wan't to) freestyle for 30 mins straight by myself. I want other people to join in and create a modern day rap cipher which could even become a platform for young inspiring artist to get some recognition and exposure to a new otherwise obscure audience.

If you would like to participate and freestyle rap join in on the Discord server https://discord.gg/bCSjzMv When you get into the room click on where it says "click here to freestyle and you will be instantly on air. That being said; you will instantly be heard so mute yourself if someone is rapping, have respect for others, and anything overtly racist or hateful or any trolling of the sort will get you instantly banned.
