The determined woman is that one who is resolved, has her mind fixed on and is bent towards achieving or accomplishing a particular goal or task without wavering or going back.
To be determined means to have a strong direction towards a given purpose or end. Therefore, we should be determined to serve God, this answer His call and walk with Him. Determination has an inbuilt strength, resoluteness, courage and consistency. This makes the determined individual stable and dependable until the goals and purpose are achieved.
Esther 7:7-9
And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king. Then the king returned out of the palace of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was. Then said the king, will he force the queen also before me in the house? As the word went out of King's mouth, they covered Haman's face. And Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who spoke good for the king, standeth inghe house of Haman. Then the king said, Hang him thereon.
Esther, a Jewish orphan became a queen instead of Vashti in Shushan, who was killed because she refused to honor the King's invitation to a party. Then arose Haman, an evil man who sought to eliminate all Jews in the kingdom. But for the determination of Esther, at the risk of her life, she sought for the King's presence which was unlawful for women, but she went in and came out alive. Esther was able to abort the wicked plans of Haman. This is what I call determination, it makes the seemingly impossible to happen.
A determined woman must be rooted in the word of God and sanctified, she must firs hunger for and study the word of God, and develop the zeal to work and be involved in the activities of the children of God. She must also develop a holy ambition to achieve a particular goal for God. Anyone who has not yet known the grace of God will find it difficult to be determined for God.
Ruth 2:19-23
....And her mother in-law said unto her, where hast thou gleaned today? And where wroughtest thou? Blessed be he that did take knowledge of thee. And she shewed her mother in-law with with whom she had wrought, and said, The man's name with whom I wrought to day is Boaz. And Naomi said unto her daughter in-law, Blessed be he of the Lord, who hath not left off his kindness to the living and to the dead. And Naomi said unto her, The man is near of KACHI n unto us, one of our next kinsmen. And Ruth the Maobites said, He said unto me also, Thou shall keep fast by my young men, until they have ended all my harvest. And Naomi said unto her daughter in-law, it is good, my daughter, that thou go out with his maidens, that they meet thee not in any other field. So she kept fast by the maidens of Boaz to glean unto the end of barley harvest and of wheat harvest; and dwelt with her mother in-law
Determination keeps a person zealous and patient even when others quit. God identifies this ability in somebody and uses that individual to accomplish His desire. Ruth had this quality which enabled her to work persistently beside the servants o Boaz until Boaz recognized her presence. The bible made us to understand that she continued daily and had daily reward, and finally her seemingly helpless condition was changed as she became a wife to Boaz. Determination to succeed will always yield good dividends.
Conclusion
It is expected of us as Christians to be determined for God in order for us to be able to render diligent service unto Him.
