Campaign dishonesty.

Val Demings (or her fundraising team) writes that Marco Rubio "doesn't listen to Floridians, and just votes for whatever his party bosses and donors want." Really? Rubio has no principles, no political beliefs of his own? He's totally a tool of the "party bosses and donors"? If that's true of Rubio, why wouldn't it also be true of Demings? And of every other politician of both parties?

A more plausible assumption is that Demings honestly believes in certain principles and policies, and that's why she's a Democrat, and that Rubio honestly believes in certain principles and policies, and that's why he's a Republican.

Is it so difficult to accept the idea that the conflict between the two parties and between Democratic and Republican candidates is not a conflict between good people and bad people or between honest people and dishonest people, but rather a conflict between people holding two different sets of principles, assumptions, and beliefs?
