The Public Prosecutor does not want to prosecute Joris Demmink, the former senior official of the Ministry of Security and Justice. The OM concludes after investigation that "there is no reasonable suspicion" that Demmink was guilty of rape (of under-aged) in Turkey in the 1990s.
Demmink is accused of two Turkish boys. The OM has tried to hear them as witnesses, but legal aid applications to Turkey have not delivered.
Because there are NO indications that Demmink has been in Turkey between 1995 and 1997 (PROOF is there), there is no other conclusion, acc-ording to the OM, that Demmink has made no criminal offenses. He has always denied himself.
"Sleeping case"
The court in Arnhem ordered an investigation into allegations against Demmink in early 2014. That research was carried out by the Rijksrecherche. The judge-in-law has also investigated.
The court in Arnhem must now decide whether the OM may indeed stop the prosecution of Demmink.
