The ocean is a deep place. And I don’t mean philosophically, emotionally or poetically.
I mean literally, physically and actually deep.
The average depth of the world’s oceans is 14,000 feet. Or 4,267 meters. Or 2.65 miles. Or about 14 Eiffel Towers. Yeah, and that’s just the average depth. The deepest point of the ocean is called the Challenger Deep, which lies at the southern point of the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean. The Challenger Deep is 36,069 feet deep. Or 10,994 meters. Or Mt Everest with about 7 Eiffel Towers stacked on top.
It has been visited twice by humans, once in 1960 and once in 2012, by the guy who directed Titanic movie.
** Bonus fact, the Titanic wreckage is 3,800 meters deep. Or 12,467 feet. Or almost 20,000 Titanic dvd cases. (7.5 inches) That is an actual calculation we did here.**
WE HAVE SO MANY TITANIC DVD’s NOW!
