Purchased LAND for Decentraland - New Virtual Reality Community Platform

What is Decentraland?

So I'm pretty excited to announce that as of last night my father @jonny-clearwater and I contributed LAND to the new Decentraland project! If you don't know, Decentraland is an upcoming VR project in which users purchase parcels of land using the cryptocurrency MANA, which is ultimately contributed to Land. Players can build all sorts of creations on this land, including things such as arcades, roller coasters, music festivals, casinoes, etc... A quick trailer for Decentraland can be seen below:

So What is the Land Being Contributed To?

Decentraland is composed of two major areas, an inner circle, where players can auction to buy land to live on and build their own creations, and a ring of outer districts, which are basically community run areas. These outer districts are composed of donated LAND, which users can stay on when the game is launched. We ended up buying land in two districts, Vegas City and Aetherian Project.

Vegas City

Vegas City is defined as a digital sin city and party town gambling district, complete with the Vegas strip, casinos, shopping centers, concerts, performance halls, and nightclubs. It claims it will have legitimate digital gambling, running through cryptocurrency (most prominently MANA). This not only sounds like a great source of fun, but also a promising way to earn profits through digital gambling.

Aetherian Project

The Aetherian Project, currently the largest district, claims to be a cyberpunk, Tron and GitS-like area. It will be composed of a night club, VR gaming tournaments (with MANA prize pools), festivals, and other neo-future like events. This is personally the area I'm most excited about, and it sounds like a really interesting area to stay in.

Interested in Decentraland?

So you wanna know a bit more about Decentraland? You can check it out more here. You need MANA to invest land into the project, which you can purchase at just about any crypto trader online. I'm personally extremely excited for this project, and am amazed about how this can affect the evolution of the use of VR in our lives! I'd like to know what you guys think about the VR movement, especially concerning Decentrand, let me know what you think in the comments below!
