The doldrums is a colloquial expression derived from historical maritime usage, which refers to those parts of the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean affected by a low-pressure area around the equator where the prevailing winds are calm. The doldrums are also noted for calm periods when the winds disappear altogether, trapping sailing ships for periods of days or weeks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doldrums
You see where I'm going with this of course.
We have collectively sailed our crypto-ships into a period of stagnation. There is no wind driving us forward, and the currents are slowly dragging us back.
When will the wind come back? What event will drive reinvestment? Will it be the mass adoption of Bitcoin? Of Ripple? Of DApps enabled by EOS?
Will it be the potential regulatory certainty allowing Wall St to engage with the markets?
Or will it be any of the other myriad of events that is happening now , like the IBM blockchain ecosystem, or the Nokia and Streamr partnership, or the VW blockchain project?
Or will it be mass adoption of STEEM?
Who knows, but to paraphrase the awesomely great new Ghostbusters, the crypto cat is out of the bag, and it ain't gonna be shoved back in any time soon.
So don't give up - and don't stop Steeming, because the price will pick up again, and you don't want to miss out on the rewards when it does!
