There are literally dozens of services out there that will track your cryptocurrency portfolio, but few are as easy and complete as Coinstats. Through the Coinstats website and their Android/IOS app, you can automatically keep track of the cryptocurrencies you purchase and keep track of how much profits or losses you have made.
Besides tracking your portfolio, Coinstats also serves as a great cryptocurrency price overview tool. Compared to other similar websites, I think that Coinstats offers one of the most visually pleasing overviews out there.
That's not all though, they also allow you to customize a personal news feed, which keeps you up-to-date in case there are shifts happening in the crypto landscape. With support for over 3000 different cryptocurrencies & 100 exchanges, Coinstats is easily the best crypto portfolio tracker out there!
Cryptocurrency Price Overview
The Coinstats app and website offer you a full overview of all cryptocurrency prices, making it a great all-in-one alternative for Coinmarketcap. You can easily check the state of the cryptocurrency market from within the app or website.
Coinstats has a couple of nice additional features which other crypto price overview websites do not offer, namely the ability to check liquidity, developer & community scores of any given coin (only available in the mobile app). Recent news items are also displayed whenever you click on a coin, making it easy to have all the information at the ready without having to switch to other websites or apps.
I quite like Coinstats' interface, it's clean and presents information in a way that is easily viewable. Keep in mind that you have the option of choosing between a light and dark interface, I personally prefer the dark one.
Crypto Portfolio Sync Options
To make full use of the automatic transaction import features, you can choose to synchronize Coinstats with:
- Cryptocurrency wallets
- Exchange accounts
- Metamask
- Ledger hardware wallet
Supported exchanges: Binance - Bitmex - Bitstamp - Cex.io - Coinbase - IDEX - HitBTC - Kraken - Liquid - Bitfinex - Bitso - Bittrex - Cryptopia - Hadax - HuobiPro - KuCoin - Poloniex
This will allow you to track all your cryptocurrency transactions automatically, so you can keep a close eye on your profits/losses through Coinstats. This process is completely straightforward and Coinstats does not have access to your funds, since you're only submitting an API key with limited functions.
Of course, you can also choose to enter your cryptocurrency holdings manually, in which case you'll be able to add at which price you bought in. This gives you a perfect overview of your current ROI, as you can see in the example below.
The Verdict
Coinstats offers their basic services for free and for most people, these will certainly be enough to accurately keep track of their coins. However, they also have some paid premium features, which could be useful if you want to track investments on more than two exchanges.
Their pricing for these premium features is more than fair, you can already subscribe for a monthly fee of $5. With that, you get additional notification features on their mobile app and you won't have any limitations on the number of exchanges you can import into your account. Note that with a premium account, you can also export your portfolio for tax purposes, which is an extremely useful feature for people who run cryptocurrency businesses.
What I like most about Coinstats is their modern, non-obtrusive interface. The free version is more than enough for me currently, but I might consider upgrading once I begin to add more cryptocurrency-related activities into my business.
