Let me tell you a story of two great Kings in Africa, a story that would guide you through your journey on this article.
There once lived two kings who fought great wars and never fail to return with the heads of their rivals.
They equalled in all aspect of their lives but one, from wealth to power, from power to territories down to a long line of subordinate.....
But then, they were like opposite sides of a coin when it came to one vital attribute that could break or make, that could crumble an empire within the twinkle of an eye or build a legacy that would be recorded in the sands of time.
If they were in a relationship I would call that a long distance relationship because they were far apart in the understanding that no man is an island of knowledge, that "two heads are better than one", that we all have different opinions, understanding and take on subjects just as we do have different finger prints..
Their different understanding of say team work built a large bridge between the efficiency of both Kings..
One would apply a wide range of opinion from a number of people from different school of thought to complex subjects and in the long run get it simplified with the most effective decision while one would apply boxed up self decisions to minor subjects and leave it in very crucial state.
Decision making in recent time
Everyday, 86400secs are deposited into our lives leaving us with an average of 35,000 decisions to make in a day.
Once a journalist asked a CEO "what's the secret to your success? ".
The CEO replied "two words" then the intrigued journalist asked "what are they? ".
The CEO replied "good decisions", the journalist then questioned further "how do you make good decisions?".
The CEO replied "experience", the journalist then replied "how do you get these experiences?"
The CEO replied "two words", the journalist asked "what are they? "
The CEO replied "bad decisions "
Now I understand why the old man next door would always sit on his rocker and watch me fall each time I tried to climb any height above me and then say "experience is the best teeacher"
To so many this believe is not a cliché yet because to them it is all valid, but then we now live in the 21st century where technologies are taken over, where wisdom should be the best teacher and not experience, a century where we don't need bad decisions to take good decisions, a century where firms grow at the speed of light but could go down history book if the slightest wrong decision is been taken.....
Technology has advanced, blockchain is gradually taking over, DAOstack now exit to cut the bridge between bad decisions and good decisions (experiences) and won't stop evolving.
Introducing DAOstack
DAOstack is designed to catalyze the future of collaboration. It’s a
platform for decentralized governance that enables collectives to
self-organize around shared goals or values, easily and efficiently.
DAOstack is sometimes called an operating system for collective
intelligence, or a Wordpress for DAOs.
What does DAOstack stand for.
DAOstack powers decentralized companies, funds and markets to make fast and innovative decisions at scale.
Simply put, DAOstack abbreviated as DAOs means Decentralized Autonomous Organizations.
AIM
- To change the entire concept of governance
Objectives
- enables developers to apply blockchain governance to various systems that are traditionally organized and run by a centralized authority or a group of individuals.
- allow users to put their protocols onto the blockchain and using smart contracts to vote on decisions that will impact that continued operation of said DAO.
The approach
- “The first principle of designing the DAO stack was not to build a specific protocol or a specific application, but rather to build the soil, the ground from which a whole ecosystem can grow and thrive.” -Matan Field (DAOstack architect and CEO)
- “We have to invent an entirely new toolkit for how human beings coordinate their sense-making, their choice-making, and their actions... as a collective intelligence. That is precisely what DAOstack is endeavoring to do.” -Jordan Greenhall (DAOstack Advisor, MP3.com cofounder, DivX Cofounder & Ex-CEO)
- “How do you do governance in a way that doesn't compromise on decentralization, still keeping the openness, and not fall back to centralized decision-making? That’s what DAOstack is about.” -Martin Köppelmann (DAOstack advisor and
CEO of Gnosis, a DAOstack Partner) - “DAOstack is committed to a fully open architecture. The more eyes on the code, the better. That’s some of the best support we can have, you know.” -Adam Levi (DAOstack CTO)
DAOstack Potential use cases
- Banking sector: Everyone down to the cleaner will have a say in the governance.
- Oil sector: Imagine when everyone decides the price of a barrel of oil with just a vote.
- Education System: Imagine a situation where students who knows their capabilities decide what they what to be taught and not what a body thinks should be taught to every student.
- The legislature of every country: Imagine when it's our collective votes that makes the law, only then will nobody be above the law.
These are just a few of DAOstack Potential use cases
You might be wondering
How DAOstack's method of vote power distribution promote incorruptibility?
Over time we have lost trust for most systems because corruption has been so enrooted beyond the top layer of the systems because everyone report to one person/boby but when everyone has the voting power then we will be talking incorruptiblity.
What advantages does a DAO have over traditional organizations?
We all knows pictures speaks, take a look at this.
What are the benefits of being able to evolve the DAO or DApp from within (through balanced and fair voting)?
I would say
- Adaptability with changes that influence growth.
- Upgrades to new advancements.
- Growth
- Growth and
- Growth
