Problems with today's medical data

Medical data do not only experience a high risk of being leaked, they can also be handled poorly. Every time you go to a different hospital they will have to run a diagnostic on you again because most of the time your previous result and test will not be transferred with you from one hospital to another.

Lets assume you are overseas and you need to do all the diagnostics again including a blood test and an allergic test. Think about the cost and the time requirements that will affect you.

MediBloc also gives the patient the right to view and control their private medical data. Patients who use MediBloc can choose which doctor can view their medical data and how much data can be seen by that doctor. This will speed up the checking process by providing pertinent information to that doctor for the best medical diagnostic and treatment

HOW IMPORTANT IS YOUR MEDICAL INFORMATION

medical-781422_1280.jpg

The medical information of a patient should be given a great priority as far as proper health management of such patient is concerned.
A good record of a patient's health information is a very useful tool both to the patients and the medical health professionals as it helps to catch human error, track therapies, monitor effectiveness of treatments, and make predictions about outcomes throughout the entire course of a patient’s lifetime.

However, the current healthcare information system seems very bad and inefficient in this aspect due to the fact that it lacks interoperability, that is; transferring a patient's information from one hospital to another is not possible, especially when such information is needed urgently at the other hospital. In a case whereby a patient visits more than one hospital, there can be an hurdle of obtaining information from a previous hospital such patient visits, especially when the result a test carried out at the previous hospital is needed.

Inability to easily obtain such information could lead to repeating that same test that was previously done in the previous hospital and this is a disadvantage to the doctor or any other medical practitioner involved, as it slows down the medical processes putting the patient's life at risk. Also, another amount of money is incurred in the test processes.

Hence, the centralization of patients' medical information around medical institutions shows
how susceptible such information is as anyone could have access to it, subsequently leaking it to outsiders which is considered being against the Professional ethics. Obviously, the integrity and security of such information can be compromised leading to the loss of data.
Also, government regulation is a barrier.

These issues boil down to the fact that a patient cannot easily access his/her medical information for an urgent use, there is little trust in data credibility, and exposure to high risk of personal information leakage is inevitable. How can you know where you’re going if you don’t know where you’ve been? Medibloc is making this possible through the use of blockchain technology!!! Yeah, blockchain utilization in the health sector.

INTRODUCING MEDIBLOC

Medibloc is a medical data platform born out of need and currently developing it's own blockchain with the vision of giving patients the full control of their medical data thereby enabling them an immediate access to it.

MediBloc MAKING HEALTHCARE SUSTAINABLE

Keeping track of and documenting one's medical history is very important, but seems more important for individuals with developmental disabilities because;

  1. patients with disabilities often see many doctors and take many medications. However, documenting their medical histories and keeping them up-to-date, individuals can make the work of each of their doctors easier by enabling them to know what others are doing, which in turn helps to avoid dangerous medication interactions.

  2. In a case where the patients with developmental disabilities who have difficulty in
communicating verbally, a well presented medical history ensures easy and quick access to the needed information by health care professionals for the provision of proper treatment, especially in an emergency.

  3. As a hint to a medical practitioner by exposing him to which medications a patient takes, at the same time enabling him to provide assistance with self-administration of medications.

  4. This enables the patient to know if an individual is allergic to certain medications so that he can be assisted to avoid those things he is allergic to. This also ensures provision of proper first aid to a patient as those things he is allergic to are known already, so special care can be taken.

  5. Respond to an emergency – keeping a medical history in an easily accessible location enables quick sharing of information with an emergency personnel quickly ensuring that paramedics and emergency room doctors qre provided with all the information needed (such as allergies, medications, and diagnoses) to treat the person’s condition in the best way.

  6. Also, having an adequate knowledge of a person’s past conditions, it is possible to deduce whether the symptoms they complain of are part of an already diagnosed illness or brand new issues. For instance, if a patient was diagnosed with asthma in a recent time and later noticed of having trouble breathing, it is possible to know he needed to be given an inhaler, but if an individual who has never been diagnosed with asthma begins to cough or wheeze, it might be needed to take such person to the hospital for diagnosis.

The Future To Which Medibloc Is Piloting Us To

unnamed (2).png

Medibloc is a medical data platform born out of need and currently developing it's own blockchain with the vision of giving patients the full control of their medical data thereby enabling them an immediate access to it.

Patients have immediate access to their medical history just by a single click means
simplification of any medical processes for which it is needed for since doctors now have all the crucial information needed to maximize the care that can be provided to such patients; it helps doctors to know where they are going since they now have the medical history of the patients.

Medibloc through the use of MED tokens will enable patients to monetize their medical information by selling them to people, especially those who need them for medical researches. They retain the rights to choose who to share their information with.

The advent of Medibloc will help to solve the problem of centralization of medical information, security, interoperability, accessibility and other associated ones.

Medical research

Data analysis is a very crucial component of any industry a revolutionary change is needed as it helps in the assessment and evaluation of the progress of such industry. In this manner, medical records are very essential in the health sector especially when research has to be made on on the number of people infected with a particular disease on a yearly basis.

However, access to medical records is very limited due to the privacy laws associated with keeping them confidential. The transfer of the full power or right of medical data over to patients can help to solve this problems as they are given permission to share their health data with whoever pleases them, and this can be done in exchange of MED token.

The unique significance of this is that it maintains the benefits of privacy and at the same time allows users to contribute to critical research.

Medibloc MainNet is launched

When Medibloc's MainNet is launched, it will enable live utilization of the platform in such a way that its intended activities will be effectively carried out. However, establishing partnerships with major corporations will go a long way in helping to integrate the system. This corporations will serve as nodes and ensure a proper decentralization of the blockchain thereby ensuring security of members data.

Digital Medical Data Storage On The Blockchain Is Superior To Traditional Medical Data Storage Methods

Cost Effectiveness

The system becomes greatly efficient through real-time processing and reduced transaction costs since the execution of activities is not given to third-party applications is , so there is no time-lag in accessing data.

Fragmented Data

Comparing the traditional data storage system in which it's medical data are fragmented, computer networks help in accurate patient data with the aid of decentralized storage. Using this method of storage, medical data can easily be shared across networks and nodes.

Fast Access To Patient's Data

Blockchain network facilitates distributed patient's health, helps to secure access to it, and also updates to patient’s shared data are done in real time.

System Interoperability

Traditional system really don't provide any room for the sharing of patient's data. However, the blockchain system provides this through the use of a decentralized Internet and computer networks across boundaries. All these are done with high level of authenticity.

Data Security

Blockchain, unlike the traditional system of data storage, ensures secured digital transaction which protects patient's identity to the maximum level.

Access and Data Inconsistency

Here, healthcare enjoys consistent and rule-based method of accessing and analyzing patient's data through the use of Smart Contracts made available on the blockchain.

CONCLUSION:
