When your work looks like everybody else's, you know you are doing something wrong
Good morning Steemians,
So I heard something really special yesterday. I was watching a YouTube video by Casey Neistat (American YouTube personality, filmmaker, vlogger, and co-founder of multimedia company Beme) and he explained why Mondays are his favourite days (Say what?) Monday is the one day of the week which is known to be hated by all people, universally (You can say that again).
However, he challenges this by pointing out how awesome it is to be motivated. Mondays are the days we begin our diets, we begin with a new job or new and exciting task...In summary, Mondays are packed with motivation.
In the spirit of this I decided to share some Monday motivation with you guys. I started with an internship today at the Aleit Group (Event's co-ordination company in the Western Cape) and so far... it's going really well. Being an intern in a creative industry is awesome. Here's why (From my personal realization which I had this this morning):
You meet all kinds of people. People you would have never had the opportunity to meet. I walked into the office this morning, bright eyed and bushy tailed, and our creative specialist needed someone to help Jackie Burger (Head Editor at Elle Magazine). I obviously jumped at the opportunity.
Miss Jackie herself, looking classy as ever
You see the most beautiful things. Whether its furniture, decor items, interior, fashion...you are always surrounded by beauty.
You are constantly challenged. You need to be flexible, dynamic and you need to think on the spot. A creative industry will never be like a regular, office job. You will be amazed and inspired on a day to day basis. I felt happy and right at home today, and I'm excited for what's to come. There is so much to learn and to see.
