Not all too long ago, we heard some statistics about children drawing.
It seems that many children these days give up on trying to draw. Criticism and discouragement apparently accompany showing their illustrations to adults, and eventually they learn that if they don't try, they won't be able to be criticized. Around here, we like to encourage and praise effort, with the understanding that skills like drawing will develop over time and continue to progress.
So far a variety of attempts and tracing are teaching the @little-peppers more about shapes and lines, and the drawings are not only improving, but the @little-peppers are really enjoying the activity!
