Yesterday a friend asked me to take the enneagram test, and down the rabbit hole I went. Me being who I am, I immediately started looking into personality tests, which was something I've started looking into in the past, but never really delved too far. I recalled how I once took the classic Myers-Briggs test... or at least a free online version. I remembered being slightly unconvinced by my results, so I figured it would be fun to retake it.
And Then
This:
Which would seem to make sense... except I dug up my test results from my first attempt and they were:
You see where the confusion comes in. It almost appears as though I'm completely bonkers. That wouldn't be too shocking, but I think there might be another plausible explanation.
I've known for quite a while that certain parts of my personality are rather fluid, as I believe those of most people are. In fact, I'd say the most fluid parts of my personality are the three which have such distinctly different results - Some days I'm extraverted, others introverted; some days I think more, others I follow my feelings a bit more - though I do try to keep a nice balance of both, and I think my results indicate that I usually pull it off; and of course some days I care more about results, some day considerably less (for some reason I never find myself in the middle on that one.)
Which would seem to be a viable explanation, except the Myers-Briggs test is supposed to show more of a nature based type, and the enneagram the nurture based. I don't know about you, but I'd think the variation in my personality tend to be more based off nurture than nature.
So maybe I am completely bonkers.
Anyways. That's what happened to my day today, and it was rather interesting at that. And just in case you're curious, my enneagram classification is apparently rather strongly a type four with a type five wing.
If you're interested, here's a general desription of how the enneagram works. Enjoy.
-hyperbole out
p.s. - sorry for the extremely out-of-character post. (Maybe that's just my fluctuating personality going off) I just spent a coupla hours on this, so it's kinda stuck in my head.
