RE: Obama - What happened to the Republican Party?

@remotediscovery,

Honor amongst soldiers ... Obama's got a point!

Huge tax cuts that nobody was even asking for ... with a $20 trillion National Debt and huge annual deficits. Starting a Trade War with practically the entire world ... simultaneously. And tariffs against Canada ... on the basis of "National Security!?!" The US has a trade SURPLUS with Canada!

I strongly disagree with the Far Left's obsession with "Identity Politics" that Obama helped usher in ... and which Hillary seemed more than willing to continue, if not escalate. But in the never-ending election cycle, many Republicans are forgetting what it is that makes them "Republicans" ... and Obama was not wrong in his analysis.

The Far Left are lunatics, but no more so than the Conspiracy Nuts becoming ever-more-prominent on the Right. Both parties have been hi-jacked by their most extreme elements and this does not bode well for the Union.

And Trump's treatment of the leaders of America's closest allies, insulting and humiliating them in public. The guy has no sense of the gravitas of the office. Some things can, and should, be said behind closed doors. Use your Ambassadors ... pick up the phone. Who's not going to take the call? If history teaches anything, it's that it's good to have friends.

The Center, Center-Right and Center-Left need to do a little soul-searching and start rejecting nuttiness, irrespective of from whence that it emanates.

The Silent Majority has got to stop being so ... "Silent." Logic, reason, rationale ... common sense and believing in the evidence of your eyes, are not things for which one needs to apologize.

Sorry about the rant. I do not suffer fools, or foolishness, gladly.
