There's enormous treasure in God's word.
Psalm 119:18
Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
The Bible is a Book of untold treasures.
Every believer is pointed to the scriptures as the source of awesome Godly inheritances.
Acts 20:32
And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
But what exactly is God's word worth?
God's word is spirit and life.
Ezekiel 2:2
And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.
John 6:63
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
God's words are life-emitting spirits.
Everywhere the word penetrates life surges.
God's word is referred to as the word of eternal life.
John 6:68
Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
God's words are not just words of life but words of eternal life.
In the beginning, the world could be said to be dead.
It was formless, lifeless and in gross darkness.
Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep...
At the instance of God's word however, the earth jacked to life. Genesis 1:1-31
Lazarus was already four days dead but Jesus brought him back to life through the enlivened word of God.
John 11:43-44
43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
It does not matter what department of anyone's life that is dead or dying, God's word has eternal capacity to bring it back to life again.
Do you remember the experience of Ezekiel in the valley of dry bones? Ezekiel 37:1-10
Ezekiel 37:1-10
1 The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, 2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. 3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.
Firstly, the soldiers were dead. Not only that, their bodies were decayed. Thirdly, their bones were very dry and fourthly they were in the valley.
It was a seemingly impossible situation. So impossible that even Prophet Ezekiel asserted that only God knew if the dry bones could live again.
However, God told the Prophet, look Ezekiel, all you've got to do is speak My words to those bones believing, and they shall live again.
4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, the word of the Lord. 5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: 6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. 8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.
9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
These accounts inform us that there's no case too dead to be enlivened by God's word.
God's word is spirit and life. It carries the very life and spirit of God.
Anyone who'll dare speak and act on it believing will doubtless be imparted with the eternal life it carries.
Peace!
