The more I learn about Christian faith, the more I realize its sound basis for logical, coherent, cogent and sufficient explanation for reality itself.
Does Christianity make some shocking claims? Yes. But those claims appear evidentially supported.
On the other hand does atheism make shocking claims? Certainly.
Atheism: A faith based worldview like any other
A few examples:
- All space, time and matter came to be at one point, out of no source, with no designer and zero prompting.
- Morality either doesn't exist, or if it does, its a product of evolutionary forces in which the strong kill the weak... Which they say makes sense even though, real morality leads to altruism and self-sacrifice.
- After someone dies of a horrible disease they say: "his suffering is over". This is not a scientifically supported claim, only a faith based theory. In reality you cannot know if their real suffering only just began.
- They say they have no faith, no worldview, no religion, but they are among the most obstinant, defensive, and "evangelic" individuals I have ever debated!
All these reasons and so many more are why, I do not have enough faith to be an atheist.
Add to this, God literally offers us relationship and as the bible says you can taste and see (Psalm 34:8), but you have to honestly desire it. Once he has put himself in your mind, you have but to ask and you will receive, seek and you will find.
