Es war sehr lange ein großer Traum von mir China zu bereisen.
Bereits als Kind las ich von der chinesischen Mauer.
Lange Zeit glaubte ich sogar an den Mythos, dass man dieses gewaltige Gebäude vom Mond aus sehen kann. Auch wenn es nicht so ist, ist dieses Bauwerk gigantisch.

Als Kind las ich im Lexikon, dass sie 8000km lang sein soll.
Doch erst, wenn man sie aus der Ferne zum ersten Mal erblickt, packt einem die Ehrfurcht vor diesem Werk.
As a child I read in the dictionary that it is about 8000 km long. But as soon as it appears from the far distance and you see the Great Wall for first time you will have awe of this gigantic wall.
Bei der Planung stieß ich hier und da auf Fragen wie: "Es ist nur eine Mauer. Muss man da wirklich hin?"
During the planning I came across questions like: "It's just a wall. Do you really have to go there?"
Sie ist schön, wirklich schön und sehenswert.
The Great Wall is such a great place to visit and worth it!
Wenn du schonmal in Beijing bist, musst du auch auf die chinesische Mauer. PUNKT. Mach es aber auf jeden Fall außerhalb der Hauptsaison oder wenigstens an einem Wochentag, denn so ein Bild willst du nicht mit nach Hause nehmen, noch das Ganze auf diese Art und Weise erleben.
If you ever visit Beijing, you really need to visit the Great Wall of China. No excuse! But make sure you do it outside the high season or at least on a weekday, because you really don't want to take these kind of pictures home with you, nor experience the whole thing in this way.

Suche dir außerdem ein Teil der Mauer aus, das nicht so nah an Beijing liegt. Ein Stück, das nicht super beliebt bei den Touristen ist. Und die Turnschuhe nicht vergessen. Wie gesagt, die Mauer ist lang und du wirst mit Sicherheit einige KM drauf laufen wollen.
Also choose a section of the wall which is not so close to Beijing and not that popular for all the tourists. Please, don't forget your sneakers. As I said, the wall is long and you will certainly want to walk some km on it.
Wir besuchten den Teil Mutianyu (ca. 70km von Beijing entfernt). Das war die komplette Strecke, die wir zurückgelegt haben. 20 Türme auf 3km.
We visited Mutianyu (about 70km from Beijing). That was the whole distance we covered. 20 towers at 3km.
Auf manchen Bildern waren fast gar keine anderen Touristen drauf.
On some pictures there were almost no other tourists on it.
