Let's Break those Pots and Welcome 2019!

With donations coming in from @donkeypong and @adollaraday, plus @flabbergast-art having a holiday from @walkofhope's creating a livelihood in Tan-awan, Negros province and presently here in Northern Philippines, well, what am I to do but do what am good at and utilise what I have?

Let's play Breaking-the-pot!

As a favourite game during celebrations, this tradition has kept on through the ages. Introduced by the Spaniards in the country, this is similar to what is called piñata. This involves hitting a paper-mache or a pot full of goodies with a block of wood blind-folded. In the Philippines, as pots can be found everywhere, this has always been what's used. The fun part can be on what ìs inside the pot. It can be money or coins, candies or flour; or all of those in a pot. Or people can improvise.

Filling 5 pots with candies and coins, we thought it's a bit mean to put flour in. Am more concerned of the kids having an asthma attack from inhaling it. So those are enough.

There are families that aren't professional in the neighbourhood, with the parents doing menial jobs. We thought we can try to give some love, with @walkofhope collaborating with my cousin from Hawaii. As @tiffanyanne is vacationing with the family, she and @idamagbag can help out. This might just be the only time that 4 steemians will gather in our town.

Whoever hits the pot wins so we prepared at least 5 medium-sized pots. Prizes will also be given to all the winners. Also, @flabbergast-art promised to play his flute as his treat to the kids in the neighbourhood.

We want to thank our supporters, followers and donors for their faith in what we do in @walkofhope. Best wishes for 2019!

Let's STEEM on!
