DailyCelestialChallenge Monday-Darkness: " The Black Forest, Germany "

The Black Forest is a wooded mountain range located in the state of Baden-Württemberg in Germany. It is an area full of pine trees, which block most of the light in the forest and hence got its name. However, the excessive logging has caused the depletion of the forest in this area, although efforts are being made to replace it .

This mountain range is formed by gneiss rock, covered by a layer of sandstone. Some of the highest mountains in this area are Feldberg, Herzogenhorn, Belchen, Spieshorn, Schauinsland and Kandel. The Black Forest was an important mining region of the European continent in medieval times. Rivers such as the Danube, the Neckar and the Wiese pass through the mountain chain, providing the region with sufficient water supply to preserve its ecological wealth.

Have a wonderful day.
