History of the Lamborghini 400 GT
It all started with an argument between Enzo Ferrari and Ferruccio Lamborghini. Ferruccio, that had made a fortune by selling tractors, complained that his Ferrari still broke down, Enzo replied :
"You can drive a tractor, but you can't drive a Ferrari".
So Ferruccio decided to produce his own GT with in 1963 the 350 GT. The first step was to increase the engine power and to fit it in the 350 GT, the 400 GT Interim version was born, only 23 were built (20 with steel body and only 3 in aluminum like this model).
Later, the coachwork was modified in order to have more space for the rear passager, the 400 GT 2+2. This model was presented during the Geneva Auto Show in 1966.
Specification
The Lamborghini 400 GT Interim has a 4 litre V12 engine mated to synchromeshed five-speed transmission producing 320 hp for a top speed of 240kmh.
This two-seat GT was finished in red over a leather tan interior. Gorgeous...
