Cannabis leaf tea experiment

Hello, and welcome to my cannabis blog!

A few weeks ago when I trimmed the big leaves from my Cannatonic plant, I decided to dry them in my food dehydrator so that I could try using them for tea. The Cannatonic variety is supposed to be a high CBD, low THC plant, and I wanted to try the leaves for tea to see if it would have any effect on my body aches.

These are some of the leaves that I picked off the plant.

I dried them in this dehydrator.

After they were dry, I decided to put them in one of my old blue glass mason jars so that I could have a relatively air tight seal with a canning lid on the jar.

I let the leaves sit in the jar for a couple of weeks, mostly because I forgot about them. A few days ago I decided to try using them to make tea with. I made a tea using an herbal tea for flavor and using a tea ball for the leaves to make a combination tea. I use one of those spring loaded tea balls, they're pretty easy to use. The herbal tea that I like to use is called Victory Tea, it's produced by "Native American Herbal Tea, Inc"

I like the flavor of the herbal tea and I can tell that the cannabis leaves are in there, but their flavor not overpowering. As for the effects, there's no buzz that I could notice, and I'm pretty much a light weight when it comes to a buzz. I think it had some effect on my body, it seems to relax me somewhat, and it seems to lower the level of aches and pains a bit. It doesn't do much for the nerve pain in my hip, but I didn't expect that it would.

I think I'm going to try chopping up the leaves instead of trying to jam them into the tea ball more or less whole. I'm sure I can get more into the tea ball if they're chopped up. I also need to do a bit of research on better ways to use them for making tea, or tincture.

That's all I have for this post, thanks for checking it out!
