For the past few years, my buddies at Anonymous hemp sector in Melbourne have held an event to help spread the word about the magic of cannabis and it's little brother hemp. The guys hand label around one thousand bottles of water and cart them up to Flinders street station and hand them out to thirsty folk! On the label is a message about cannabis and @BUDMAN thinks this is a really novel and unique idea! Especially when you take the weather into account! The event is held right in the middle of December which is summer time in Australia with temperatures reaching into the 40's on some days! ( Celsius ). Along with the bottles the guys give out flyers and badges and tons of free hugs! The reception from the people is amazing, and why wouldn't it be? Free stuff always tastes better! The event, by the way, is called Wet the whistle, for obvious reasons.
Last year they had a donation tin and managed to raise $120 which was all spent on meals for the homeless after the event. Putting smiles on faces all day and not a bud in site! ( until afterwards of course).
- Here are last years labels!
- Dropping off the load.
- Here are some images of the guys and gals at work!
- The door the guys are standing in front of goes strait into the police station. In fact, that building is the cop shop, behind those windows are cops. They leave the blokes alone though and have only once said something "good on ya fellas" encouragement from the cops!
- Here are some of the labels that have been used.
Anonymous hemp sector Australia hold a fundraiser every year to raise a bit of cash to take the pressure of their own pockets! Free stuff always costs something to someone!
