The other day whilst waiting for a windscreen repair, I took a walk along the main Sukhumvit road at the top of Pattaya and firstly found a nice place for a coffee, then saw the Royal Enfield showroom. I couldn't resist going in for a look around (and left with pictures and a t-shirt!).
"Lost Hours" is an indoor-outdoor garden space with interesting architecture, tucked behind a gas station at the back with parking and more public facilities and convienence shops adjacent. These 2 pictures are just from the inside.
LOST HOURS coffee shop, Pattaya, Thailand
Typical of many daytime establishments in Thailand, they can sometimes have very nice decor.

Nice spot to grab a bit of Wifi, check the laptop for emails and alerts ... until I got bored and saw the Royal Enfield showroom was next door. That should kill a bit of time waiting for my windscreen repair :)
Royal Enfield bikes on display outside the showroom
Royal Enfield is a classic British bike brand, these days built in India. Despite the appearance and 'old school' engines, these days they also pack in some modern technology to make them reliable and robust machines. The first Royal Enfield motorcycles date back to 1901, with a history of import and then manufacturing in India since the early 1950's. These enduring motorcycles, designed for tough conditions - including the Himalaya's - have become a unique and quintessentially quirky brand for anyone seeking something a bit more classic, and different. A perfect fit for NewtonClassics :)
In the main showroom
Showroom is a gallery and boutique style, with places to sit and take time to explore the brand and products in a nice environment.

Although imported, tax on motorcycles to Thailand is still a lot less harsh than for private cars.

The Classic

Italian skittles ...
Also attached is a showroom with colourful imported Italian 'Vespa' style scooters. Some of these are very nice machines, with a lot of modern features, highly durable components, and refinelments such as easy to use power and anti-skid braking.
"Cafe Racer" style is another option!
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed this post. All things petrolhead is one of my main aims for this blog.
Thanks to the staff at the Royal Enfield showroom, Pattaya, for being very welcoming and allowing me to poke around taking pictures.
