We used to think we knew didn't we? I see a lot of people talking about what their vote is worth now and feeling angry or upset.
Here are a few things to consider:
The Reward Pool is based on averages and the downvoting and lack of bidbot usage hasn't been averaged in yet. A week after HF21 the first payouts will begin to happen and the adjustments will start. Yet they still will change as people use the site differently,
Your vote changes based on how many other accounts are voting, price, number of votes per day and now also who voted before or after you. You might test this by voting on a low-value post and also voting on a high-value post. You will see the behavior is different between posts. Your post value will be much more fluid now.
Should you keep posting on Steem with a small vote?
I have no idea, it depends on if you enjoy Steem, if you want to, what you other earning options are, what your financial goals are, etc. If you can earn more elsewhere you should totally consider it.
I knew the changes were a risk, I talked about my concern they would be hard on the small accounts, I wish they would have changed the dust threshold.
The fact is we are in an ALTCOIN Depression and Steem has been impacted even more than some other tokens. I get it. We've all been taking a pay cut for a year and a half now and the blows will not stop coming. I understand the frustration.
If you need to direct your time elsewhere I understand, but just know what we are seeing right now hasn't adjusted, so weigh that into your decisions.
Also, Steem will likely continue to move with the markets for a bit and no one knows if we will recover when the alts recover. This is a high-risk opportunity subject to change and run by a DPOS system.
To Rage Quit before seeing the results is just sort of embarrassing.
Personally I can take the risk and I choose to. I am not promising anyone future wealth or crypto millions but I've been here this long and I am going to hang in there to at least see what the next alt season brings.
High-risk investments are high risk... Let that sink in.. :)
