(39.60) BUET students' program to protest against attacks on students
Students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) are holding the program of Shaheed Minar at the BUET campus in protest against attacks on protesters demanding safe road.
From Saturday evening (4th August) they took position on the road leading to the Shaheed Minar inside the BUET campus. Almost three hundred students participated in it. They lit candles protesting the attack.
During this time the students were giving various slogans. Why should I give an answer to my brother, I will not allow my brother's blood to go in vain. Want safe road, why should my sister be asked to answer, do not run without licenses - do not run, we want justice, why blood in school dresses, will have to answer. They gave such slogans.
Asked if Basu Dev, the first year student of the Department of Biometric Engineering, told the Bangla Tribune, "We have taken a stand here to protest against our younger brothers. Our position is going from 6pm. '
Another student, who was reluctant to disclose the name, told the Bengali Tribune, "Today our brothers have been attacked in the capital. We have stayed here to protest.
Due to the position of the students, there is no visible movement in the streets of Palashi and Bakshi Bazar.
