Introduction
It's been about two years since my last post. As expected in life, many things have changed over the course of two years. These changes first brought me to abandon the blog in the first place, but just like in all cycles, the blog will come back because the changes in life find its way back here.
For context, my full blog can be found at https://hadrianarcho.blogspot.com/
What's changed?
The biggest changes in life since the last blog is that I became highly involved in nonprofit work, and have developed quickly as a leader in my local nonprofit community. I started my own nonprofit and sat on the board of a second at the same time throughout the past 2 years. This all happened while I'm still working my day job as a researcher. While that presents a full schedule, there was still enough time to engage in online antics during the moments when I was walking from A->B, on an elevator, or the occasional downtime periods. In those gaps, I was in charge of a couple of online Discord communities.
How did this affect blogging?
Firstly, it did away with it for nearly two years. With so many meetings, events, drama, and maintenance to do over the past two years. I barely had time to write at the cadence that I was writing back in 2022. However, while being in charge of a discord community, I developed a space there for blogging since I was the owner and had an integrated audience of server members who would read my blogs just because I was the owner. However, the other purpose of the blog was to make sure that I was still writing somewhere to process the things I was working on since writing in my paper journal was taking too long. I blogged in the server for just under a year before I announced my retirement from the server. Now, that the server outlet is gone, I will be returning to this blog to serve as the outlet for the things I'm working through as an executive of the nonprofits, and for whatever else is going on.
What will change in the revival?
There will be a handful of changes to the blogs to reflect the lifestyle that I currently live better and what sort of time and what sort of mindset I'm in when I'm writing now.
There will be more personal content
In the previous iteration of the blog, I was writing on various topics like current events, news, and philosophy. In this iteration of the blog, I will be spending more time on recapping scenarios, ideas, and events that happen to me in my life.
The content will be more business and nonprofit focused
The previous iteration of this blog dealt more with the sciences and politics. While these things are still part of who I am, they are much more in the background of my life rather than the forefront of my life.
The content will not have as much references and research put into it.
This is a reflection on the amount of downtime I now have to write. In the previous iteration, I had most of my nights and weekends to write content, and do supplemental research to the content. I won't be able to do more of these sorts of things, and this is in line with content that is more personal to me as an individual rather than what is going on in the world.
There will be no regular schedule
I previously had a cadence of about a post per week or two weeks in the old version of the blog. In this iteration, following the blog I had on discord, I'll be blogging when I have downtime, or when I really need to get something off my chest and processed.
Last words
It's good to be back. I still have some other things to figure like where these blogs will be syndicated. For example, I used to cross post these blogs on Minds and Steemit. However, both platforms are pretty dead, so instead, We'll see where are good places to write where people will read it or can get redirected here. I think hive.blog will replace steemit, but for minds, I'll have to look where else I can post long form content.
