A Pep talk from me of sorts.


Hello and welcome to my blog where I type seriously once in a blue moon to impart knowledge unto willing victims that read this.

Let's start with the disclaimers, no I am not a health professional, things I write are of my opinion and experience.


STRESS. stress is terrifying. stress is destructive. stress is debilitating.


Let's start with a question, DEAR FRIENDS!

are you stressed with your life now?

GIVE UP! , you'll live happier. yes that's the TLDR version.


THE TWO TYPES OF LIFESTYLES

There are fundamentally only two types of lifestyle.

  • Assertive Lifestyle
  • Reactive Lifestyle

Having an assertive lifestyle means you do what you want when you want!

Having a reactive lifestyle means being idle, waiting for the next task to come up.

Both might look polarizing from each other at a glance but it's not.


SO WHAT'S THE PROBLEM

The problem is when you have both lifestyles that conflict with each other.

You want to do X now, but you can't because you have to do Y.

(e.g.: You want to rest now, but you still have work to do.)


WHAT LED US HERE

Oh it's pretty simple and relatable among us.

We have dreams.

We want to do everything we want as much as we want as much as we can.


It's all about the FREE WILL.

  • things we want to do, gives us relief.
  • things we don't want to do, give us stress.

but there's a third option,

  • Things we have to do, which is somewhat neutral.

It's the difference between.

  • I AM
  • I WILL
  • I MUST

just by shifting the tone a little bit can change so much.


HAVING A SCHEDULE IS PART OF THE SOLUTION

let's start by first with the constants.
There's 24 hours a day.

  • You need to REST
  • You need to EAT
  • You need to POOP

how about other things?

  • Responsibilities that support the Trinity above.

Now those are the minimum, but there's also.

  • Responsibilities we are required to do.

What about dreams and aspirations?
If there's time leftover then do so, if not.

  • Learn to give up.

Know what's important to you.

  • If your responsibilities is more important then give up on your dreams.

It's just how it is.

  • If your dream is more important then give up on your responsibilities.

We do it all the time, We give up sleep so it's not something revolutionary.


SO WHAT AM I TRYING TO SAY?

If you are living in a Reactive lifestyle right now... I'm sorry but you have to give up in having an Assertive Lifestyle.

You will just get burned more by constant disappointments in not doing what you want.
again the tone can change so much for so little, from dreams to hobbies.

If you are suffering, It's best to take a deep breath and think of your life right now. Shed all those unnecessary things and start a new.

You can do it.


THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

  • Life has no metrics.

Think about this for a moment and let it sink in.
Just because someone is doing something doesn't mean you have to.

  • Life is a zero sum game.

We can't have everything.

  • Happiness however is not a zero sum game.

Happiness can be shared, as well as the burdens of life.
