I am sad to say I got laid off from my second delivery job.
Last week due to Illness I had to phone in sick to my second delivery job, but because I have a duty to my employer I sent a friend to cover my shifts as I think this is the decent thing to do.
My friend is an experienced driver with more the 10 years delivering pizza in Sheffield, So I thought that he would be a good fill in for me.
I explained to my mate that the shop he was going to was not as busy as the ones he had worked at before, he said he understood and covered 2 of my shifts.
On the first night, he phoned me to say how bored he was as he only had delivered 7 orders that night, I explained that it was like that, and it was the easiest delivery job ever, so he agreed to go back the second night.
at 11.30pm he phoned me to say he had done 2 delivered all night, we had a laugh about it but like I had said before to him the shop was a quiet one and deliveries were very minimal.
I went back to work Friday at my regular delivery job and that is when my little accident happened, and then Saturday I delivered again, Saturday night's delivery was worse than Friday nights as I was spat at and told I was a fat C*nt. this all adds to the stress of the job.
At the end of my shift, the second shop phoned me up and said to me, "don't need you tomorrow night" so I said I would see them Tuesday to get the response "don't come back"
I asked what I had done wrong to have the phone hung up on me. I thought everything was fine, now tonight I have been sat at home looking for other delivery jobs to do at night.
So from Illness my car breaking down and my car accident I am out of pocket and stressed, to say the least.
I am hoping that some luck comes my way soon.
Luckily it is the kids holidays and I can spend some time with them for a change.
