F1 Delta Time crate sale comes with $48.000 giveaway

Starting within the coming weeks gamers and collectors can buy virtual crates which contain drivers, cars and car parts for the upcoming racing game F1 Delta Time. After acquiring the crates, buyers will get lottery tickets that gives them a chance to win one of the three unique racing cars with a estimated value of 16 thousand dollars each.

The crates will be available in four tiers: common, rare, epic and legendary. Only the more expensive epic and legendary ones may contain virtual cars and drivers based on actual Formula 1 teams and drivers.

Animoca Brands announced the crate sale this Thursday, but failed to mention an exact release date. On the official blog the company underlined that the sale will start this month. Prices for the crates have not been revealed yet.

How long the sale will take place, is not set in stone. The crates are limited in supply. There are:

  • 2500 Common crates
  • 2000 Rare crates
  • 1500 Epic crates
  • 500 Legendary crates

All these crates are sold as ERC-20 tokens. Once players open them, these tokens are destroyed. However, players are free to hold on to them and sell them on a marketplace. Players who buy the crates early on, will get a discount.

What is in the crates?

Each crate has five items. A common crate will give gamers four common items and one rare item, while a rare crate offers two common items and three rare ones. Epic crates get one epic item, one rare item and three common ones, and the legendary crates replaces that epic item with a legendary one. For every crate there a minuscule chance that the crate will drop an item from a higher tier.

When buying a crate, players can never know whether they will get a driver, a car or only car parts. The types of collectibles that are in a crate are randomly determined based on the overall scarcity. Cars and drivers are more scarce then for example tires and car parts. In addition a legendary car is obviously much scarcer than a common car.

There are two types of drivers and cars. There are the official drivers and cars based on the licensed 2019 Formula 1 season. These are only available at the epic or legendary rarity. Original drivers and cars are made-up for F1 Delta Time, and these can only be found in common and rare crates.

$48.000 giveaway raffle

The developers call the highest rarity inside the F1 Delta Time universe Apex. Recently someone bought one of these cars, the Azure Dragon, in an auction for $16.000. Three other cars based on Chinese dragons are part of a raffle. That’s approximately 48 thousand dollars in value!

Every crate purchased gives a player one, two, three or five tickets, based on the rarity of the crate. The first Apex car will be given away after two thousand crates have been sold, the second after four thousand crates and the last one when players purchased all 6500 crates.

What is F1 Delta Time?

F1 Delta Tima is an officially licensed racing and collecting game from Animoca Brands. In this blockchain game players can collect virtual cars, drivers and car parts. Players can sell or trade these with other gamers.

In the game players get to own officially licensed items from real brands. However, F1 Delta Time also features original teams, drivers and cars. That way the developers can create enough assets for player to collect, trade and play with.

Animoca Brands didn't show actual gameplay of F1 Delta Time yet. The game should launch this Spring.
