You gotta love it every time when you start a full Bitcoin blockchain resync for a local BTC wallet using the Bitcoin Core... it starts fast, then it slows down as blocks get bigger and bigger. Not to mention what happens if you try to do it with a slow internet connection or on a slow computer with a hard drive instead of an SSD. After all you need to download and check 165 GB of BTC blockchain data and check the transactions inside it, it does take time... like it or not.
